In this new Advent sermon series we look to Carols of the season to give us hope and inspiration. We begin with, "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel." It is a 6th century hymn that epitomizes the Advent Season. The hymn is an apocalyptic prayer asking God to come into our broken world to bring healing and hope. In Christmas we remember if God has done it before, come to us in Christ Jesus, God will again, and that hopeful expectation is Advent.

Business coach, Charles Feltman defines trust as, “Choosing to risk making something you value vulnerable to another person’s actions.” God has entrusted a great deal to God's people, and every day we too risk what we value to others. Ruth teaches us something about trust -- trust in others and trust in God. Boaz also teaches us who to live into the trust God has in us.
